Broke your blush! Not an earth shattering problem when you can avoid tossing dollars in the trash!
Solution: Crush up the blush pieces into a fine powder, store in
a small container and use as a loose blush!
Loose blush made from pressed blush is usually richer in pigment. You can also add your favorite shimmery eye shadow to turn your blush into a shimmery enhancing powder!
Many foundations get darker over time when air gets into the bottle, shortening the shelf life.
Solution:
Super charge your foundation with oil-rich or oil-free serums depending on
which type of foundation you
use. Oil-based makeup works better with rich emollient serums and water based makeup works better with oil free serums.
Who hasn’t run out of mascara without enough notice to paint those pretty lashes before getting to the store?
Solution: For water based
mascaras, you can simply drop a bit of water in the tube to get that last
application or
two! An easier trick to ensure you don’t put too much water in the tube is to spray water on the mascara wand!
Note:
Many women ask if it’s safe to extend the life of your mascara. If the shelf
life has been cut short due to over
usage or over pumping
air, you should be just fine. If the mascara is past the sell by date,
toss it no matter what!
Lots of us have lip
color disasters. One day the color looked beautiful and the next, it’s the outcast
of our lipstick collection!
Solution: Break off the
colorful culprits in separate slots of a vitamin pill container. Having colors side by
side in
one palette allows you to easily mix and match! Mix in a lip balm with moisturizing ingredients like vitamin E to keep lips soft and to lighten the pigment of your lip colors!
